I believe that you learn better when you enjoy yourself.
As well as when you apply, analyze, evaluate and synthesize information.
I apply variety in delivery (exercises, videos, games, etc.). And the content and design are regularly updated.
All of this with a trainer who is flexible and has a good sense of humour.
