I loved my job. But long hours had become the norm and I wasn’t as enthused about it as I had once been. One cold winter night I kept my husband waiting over 2 hours (again!). That was my wake-up call. I decided that I wanted something different.
I wanted not only to love my job, but also be excited about it every day and feel like I made a difference in people’s lives. I wanted to get off the treadmill and achieve better balance.
That was almost 20 years ago. Today I know I positively impact others and I am excited about what I am doing – coaching, facilitating & training in areas that are important to me.
About 10 years ago, I looked around me and realized that there were many other people who were on that same treadmill, but they didn't know how to get off. They were afraid of the unknown.
I wanted to help those people them gain control over the craziness that masqueraded as life. I decided to draw upon my experiences and The Haines Centre’s Systems Thinking Approach(TM) to create a guide to help people slow down.
I published my life-planning book “Get Me Off the Treadmill!” in 2004. I also offered workshops and coaching on the topic.
The world has changed since I originally wrote the book, and so have I. In 2014 I published the second edition of “Get Me Off the Treadmill!”
The updated version still follows the Systems Thinking Approach – starting with what you want your life to look like. The second edition has more stories, updated exercises and includes some of my photographs. I believe it will help people who want to make changes in their lives, but need some guidance and inspiration to do so.
I want to impact even more people than ever, so in addition to workshops and coaching, I’m also creating webinars.
If you want to change your world, I recommend you get my life-planning book. Click on “Get Me Off the Treadmill!” Because helping you get off the treadmill is why I wrote a life-planning book.
