I deliberately use the term Strategic Management instead of strategic planning. 

Strategic Management is much more than just planning!

Strategic planning is defined as the organization's process of defining its strategic direction and making decisions on activities and resources to pursue this direction.

It is often considered to be separate and independent from the business of the organization.

Strategic Management is a systems approach to running your business day-to-day.

Strategic Management incorporates strategic thinking and strategic planning into the the everyday, ongoing progress of the organization. Making it the backbone of how the organization manages its business and executes its plans.

Strategic Management is the ongoing executing, monitoring and revising of your strategic plan - in light of changes in the organization or in the external environment.

Strategic Management is the application of Systems Thinking to Strategic Planning and Strategic Change Management.

It includes being strategic in both your planning and managing the changes associated with implementing that plan throughout the year.

Using Strategic Management means that you and your team make regular and strategic decisions to effectively implement the strategic plan. 

With Strategic Management you can be agile and resilient. Which establishes you ahead of your competition.
