Phase 1: Learning the Fundamentals
Learn about The Systems Thinking Approach© and how to apply it to Strategic Management (which includes both planning and execution).
There are two options for the learning phase:
Two-day in-person workshop, The Systems Thinking Approach© to Strategic Management
Eight-session live webinar series, The Systems Thinking Approach© to Strategic Management, with between-session assignments. The sessions are also recorded.
Phase 2: Demonstrating Content Mastery
Pre-work:
Read supplied articles, books and best practices reports.
Prepare case studies for use during week-long master-class and immersion boot-camp.
Revisit what you've learned during the Learning Phase and be ready to demonstrate your mastery.
Strategic Management Master-Class and Immersion Boot-Camp:
Demonstrate mastery of concepts and processes of The Systems Thinking Approach© to Strategic Management. Acquire more in-depth knowledge and skills through interaction and practice. Receive feedback from other participants and Haines Centre Master Facilitators.
There are two options for the Master-Class:
In-person workshop - This intensive 4 1/2 day workshop builds upon the Learning Phase and develops your skills and confidence to facilitate and lead the Strategic Management process inside your organization. We recommend bringing your own strategic plans to which you can apply the concepts and get feedback. Includes in-class presentations based on Phase 1 workshop or webinar content and readings.
Online - Fifteen one-on-one coaching sessions (about 90 minutes each) with a Haines Centre Master Facilitator covering the same materials as the in-person Master-Class.
Phase 3: Practicum/Application
Work with a Haines Centre Master Facilitator to sharpen your practical competencies in applying The Systems Thinking Approach© to Strategic Management.
There are two options for your practicum project:
Work directly with a Master Consultant - Co-facilitate with a Haines Centre Master Consultant to apply The Systems Thinking Approach© to Strategic Management and deliver consulting, facilitation and/or coaching services. Your Haines Centre Master Consultant will review the project plan, coach you through the project and grade your project report.
Work with a Haines Centre Coach - Get six 1-hour coaching sessions while you implement a pre-approved project of consulting, facilitating and/or coaching inside your organization. The Haines Centre Coach will coach and guide you through the project and review and grade your project report. Coaching above the six hours is available for additional fees.
Valerie MacLeod, MBA, SMP is a certified business coach, master facilitator and master trainer who helps organizations and individuals exceed financial and operational targets. She coaches, trains and facilitates in strategic thinking, strategic planning, change, people and leadership.
Because of Valerie’s technical background (Bachelor of Mathematics) she works well with technical leaders – people who are engineers, accountants, scientists, doctors, geoscientists, computer specialists, technology professionals, etc. Her MBA (Human Resources) and experience give her the skills to facilitate, coach and training using a diverse skill set.
She is unique because she balances both left-brain (logical) and right-brain (creative & systems thinking) processing to help her clients strengthen their strategic thinking abilities.
