Change

When we experience any change in life, we go through a rollercoaster of emotions.

This is normal - whether it's something small like forgetting where your keys are to something large like a major reorganization.

This occurs even if the change is something we are looking forward to: a new job, a first-born or a larger home.

Are you experiencing the Rollercoaster of Change?

Here are some ideas to survive change:

  • Get clarity on the possible futures
  • Prepare yourself to be successful in those futures - train, read, develop
  • Let go of the past with respect - your past experiences served you in the past, they may need to be released if they won't serve your future
  • Let yourself grieve - expect to feel shock, anger and depression, they are normal

Everyone experiences the rollercoaster's emotions, whether it's a short dip or a long, slow ride. It's natural, normal and highly predictable. Be kind to yourself and others on the journey.

I teach leaders and individuals on how to handle change. I also coach leaders on being a great leader in the midst of change.
