Your present organization is PERFECTLY designed to give you the results you are getting today.
If you want to change your results, you need to make changes in the design of your organization.
Was your organization structure updated when the strategy was updated?
Did you organization structure just happen, or was it purposely designed?
Do reporting relationships make sense? For example, do you have long-term focused areas, like strategic planning and R&D, reporting to short-term focused functions, like admin and operations?
Do you have the right people, with the right skills in the right jobs?
In order to get different results you are going to have to change your organizational structure.
Also consider temporary structural changes, like implementation teams, to help you execute your strategic plan.
Remember the saying in architecture: “form follows function.” The design of your organization should support the strategic direction of the organization. If you change your strategy, update your structure!
