Bored? We all get a little bored with our jobs after awhile. This is normal!
When you got this job you loved it. What’s change? YOU!
If it’s you that has changed, then you can do some things to get that old “spark” back for your job.
Investigate why you are dissatisfied. Take a look at your job and discover what about it has caused you to change your feelings about your job. Are you no longer challenged? Has your supervised changed? Is there something in the office environment bothering you? Once you have determined what is bothering you, then you can do something positive about it. Without an awareness of what is not right in your job, you can’t make any changes to it. And it will continue to subtly dissatisfy you.
Get out of your rut. As the saying goes, “a change is as good as a rest!” Most people follow the same routine every day, this can get monotonous. Switch things up – face a different direction, add new photos to your desk, or eat lunch at a new restaurant. Sometimes small change is all you needed to breathe some life into work.
Learn something new. Being a student again can open your eyes up to new possibilities in your job. Take a course, or watch a video on something that is of interest to you that can help your career. Talk to your supervisor about cross-training for another role. You could even offer to cross-train someone for your job.
Having new challenges at work can help you fall in love with your job all over again!
